Prime Video to film Brazilian reality show ‘Oi, Sumido!’ in September

Prime Video has announced the production of a new original reality series in Brazil titled ‘Oi, Sumido!’. Based on the successful South Korean dating format ‘EXchange’ created by CJ ENM and TVING, the show will be directed by Boninho and produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Formata.

Filming is scheduled to begin in September in São Paulo and Campos do Jordão. The premise involves five former couples living together without initially knowing the identities of each other’s ex-partners, allowing them to revisit past connections or pursue new romances. The production will also feature a celebrity panel, referred to as the ‘Galera do Sofá’, to provide commentary on the show’s dynamics.

This adaptation marks the expansion of the ‘EXchange’ intellectual property into Latin America, following its successful Japanese adaptation, ‘Love Transit’. The original South Korean series has seen significant commercial success on TVING, driving high subscriber acquisition and ranking as a top entertainment program.
