Prime Video to release new 'Carrie' series by Mike Flanagan in October 2026

Prime Video announced a new television adaptation of Stephen King’s novel *Carrie*. Showrunner, writer and producer Mike Flanagan – known for *The Haunting of Hill House* and *Life of Chuck* – will helm the horror series, which is set in a contemporary era and will incorporate modern social‑media culture.

The eight‑episode series is scheduled for an October 2026 premiere. The cast includes Summer H. Howell as Carrie White, with Matthew Lillard, Samantha Sloyan, Amber Midthunder and Josie Totah in supporting roles. The adaptation is expected to retell the classic telekinetic‑revenge story with a modern twist, updating the infamous prom‑night massacre for today’s audience.

The project follows several previous film and television versions of *Carrie* and marks Flanagan’s latest foray into adapting King’s horror catalogue for streaming platforms.
