Prime Video unveils Blade Runner 2099 trailer, November 25, 2026 debut
Prime Video premiered the first official trailer for Blade Runner 2099 at San Diego Comic‑Con 2026. The live‑action miniseries, set fifty years after Blade Runner 2049, follows Cora (Hunter Schafer), a human fugitive who assumes the role of a Blade Runner, and Olwen (Michelle Yeoh), a dying replicant Blade Runner. The series portrays a Los Angeles where replicants have overtaken humanity, leaving humans as second‑class citizens.
Showrunner Silka Luisa (known for Shining Girls) leads the creative team, with Ridley Scott serving as executive producer alongside Scott Free Productions. Production was carried out mainly at Barrandov Studios in Prague, with additional scenes shot in Barcelona. The eight‑episode series will be released globally on Amazon Prime Video on 25 November 2026, available in more than 240 territories.
The announcement also confirmed that the series will continue the visual and philosophical tone of the franchise while expanding its dystopian world, promising a “sunshine noir” aesthetic and a deeper exploration of what it means to be human when humanity is no longer dominant.
