Prime Video wins 12-year exclusive NHL streaming rights in Canada
Amazon’s Prime Video and Rogers Communications have signed a 12‑year sublicensing agreement that will run from the 2026‑27 season through 2037‑38. Under the deal Prime Video will be the exclusive home for Wednesday‑night national NHL regular‑season games in Canada, broadcasting at least 26 games each season in both English and French starting on September 30, 2026. The streamer will also receive exclusive rights to select Stanley Cup playoff series each year – two first‑round series and one second‑round series – which it will carry at no additional cost to Canadian Prime members. Rogers retains the broader national rights package, with Sportsnet keeping exclusive English‑language rights to more than 500 national NHL games per season. Financial terms of the sublicensing arrangement were not disclosed. The agreement follows Rogers’ separate $11 billion, 12‑year national media rights deal with the NHL and comes as the public broadcaster CBC ends its historic "Hockey Night in Canada" partnership after the 2025‑26 season.
