Prime Video’s ‘Bloodaxe’ announces new cast members for season two

Prime Video has announced several new cast members for the second season of its upcoming historical epic, ‘Bloodaxe’. The series, which has not yet premiered, was renewed for a second season in June and is currently filming in Ireland.

Gard Løkke will join the production as a series regular. Melina Åkerman, Kieran Bew, Sebastian Bull, and George Burgess have been added in recurring roles. The series is created, showrun, and executive produced by Michael and Horatio Hirst.

The show chronicles the rise of the Norse raider Erik Bloodaxe, played by Xavier Molyneux, and his wife Gunnhild Bloodaxe, played by Jessica Madsen. The narrative focuses on their struggle for control of the Norwegian throne amidst political unrest, shifting alliances, and violence across Scandinavia and England.
