Primero Justicia to join Venezuela's August political dialogue with the government

The opposition party Primero Justicia, a member of the Plataforma Unitaria Democrática, announced that it will have representation in the national dialogue that begins on 1 August 2026 between the Venezuelan government (chavismo) and the opposition. The party said it will work alongside opposition leaders María Corina Machado, Edmundo González Urrutia and the delegation headed by former deputy Dinorah Figuera.

Primero Justicia listed its priorities for the talks: the release of all political prisoners, dismantling the repressive apparatus, appointing a new National Electoral Council (CNE), guaranteeing an independent Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), ensuring freedom of expression, restoring parties to their legitimate authorities and lifting political bans. The party also reaffirmed its support for the 2015 National Assembly and welcomed the process promoted by the United States Department of State.
