Primož Roglič to miss San Sebastián and Burgos after training‑car accident, still targeting Vuelta
Slovenian cyclist Primož Roglič, a four‑time Vuelta a España champion riding for Red Bull‑BORA‑Hansgrohe, said he was struck by a car while training on Austrian roads. He posted an Instagram photo showing a large bruise and hematoma on his thigh and wrote, “Got hit by a car a few days ago… I won’t be participating in San Sebastián and in Burgos unfortunately… not the best scenario, but that’s life.”
Medical checks found no fractures, but the injury forced him to withdraw from the one‑day Clásica San Sebastián and the Vuelta a Burgos, races that were meant to sharpen his form. Roglič confirmed that his focus remains on the Vuelta a España, which starts on 22 August 2026 in Monaco, and that he will continue to work toward a possible fifth overall win.
