Primorsko-Goranska County launches 1.5 million euro healthcare project

The Primorsko-Goranska County (PGŽ) has launched a healthcare improvement project valued at approximately 1.5 million euros. The initiative, titled ‘Improvement of primary and specialist-consilium healthcare in Primorsko-Goranska County – Group 1’, is 95% funded by non-refundable grants, with the remaining 5% financed by the county. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.

As part of the project, the PGŽ Health Center will receive 275 pieces of new equipment, primarily for family medicine and specialist clinics. This equipment will be distributed across 34 health facilities in areas including Gorski Kotar, Klana, Jelenje, Čavli, Matulje, and Novi Vinodolski. Key acquisitions include a new X-ray device for Delnice worth approximately 200,000 euros, gynecological ultrasound machines, and mammography equipment. Additionally, telemedicine services for cardiology and ophthalmology will be developed in Čabar.

A portion of the funds, totaling 143,700 euros, is allocated to the PGŽ Emergency Medical Institute and its branches in Delnice, Čabar, and Vrbovsko. This includes the procurement of three new defibrillators, three automated chest compression devices, and rapid blood analysis devices. The project also covers the purchase of two electric vehicles for the Delnice health center's home care service, the creation of accessible information materials for the visually and mentally impaired, and staff training.
