Primorsko-goranska County officials visit Basque Culinary Center

Representatives from the Primorsko-goranska County, led by Prefect Ivic Lukanović, conducted a study visit to the Basque Culinary Center in San Sebastian. The visit focused on models for developing gastronomic tourism, professional training, and innovation systems that have established the Basque region as a global culinary destination.

The program included exploring the center’s lifelong learning department and the Gastronomy Open Ecosystem (GOE), an innovation hub connecting businesses, researchers, and startups. The goal is to exchange knowledge on how to integrate education, scientific research, and market needs to enhance regional economic development.

In a separate development regarding tourism technology, the Opatija Hospitality School has introduced a free online course titled ‘VR for Tourism’ as part of the Erasmus+ VR4T project. The course provides teachers and tourism professionals with training on using virtual reality for education and business, covering digital content creation and modern technological trends.
