Prince Albert II of Monaco visits Naxos

Prince Albert II of Monaco conducted a three-day visit to the Greek island of Naxos from August 31 to September 2. Accompanied by Dr. Vassilis Apostolopoulos, the honorary consul of Monaco in Greece, the Prince arrived via private aircraft to Paros before traveling to Naxos by boat.

During the tour, which was led by Vice Admiral Ioannis Margaritis and Maria Polykreti, the Prince explored the island's cultural heritage, gastronomy, and agricultural traditions. Key stops included Koronos, Komiakí, Mirisi, the Kampones Estate, Chalki, and the ancient Temple of Demeter in Sagri.

Prince Albert II showed particular interest in the region's viticulture, specifically the ancient unrooted vines and indigenous grape varieties such as Koronida. He also engaged with local producers, including French winemaker Loïc Pasquet, to discuss the island's winemaking traditions and natural environment.
