Prince and Princess of Wales share family photo for Mountain Rescue Awareness Day
The Prince and Princess of Wales have released a previously unseen family photograph to mark Mountain Rescue Awareness Day. The image, captured in June, shows William and Kate alongside their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, surrounded by members of a mountain rescue team.
The photo commemorates the completion of the Princess of Wales’s Three Peaks Challenge, during which she climbed the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales—Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon—within 24 hours. The expedition was undertaken to raise funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, the institution where she received treatment for cancer.
In a joint message, the couple expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers who provide essential safety services in challenging landscapes. They noted that meeting local rescue teams during the summer challenge allowed them to witness firsthand the dedication, professionalism, and compassion of the mountain rescue community.
