Michael praised the recent U.K. police investigation but criticised the British government for shielding perpetrators. Labour MP Rachel Maskell has called for a public inquiry into what she described as unchecked power and abuse of authority at the Palace. The Palace declined to comment, citing an ongoing police probe involving Mountbatten Windsor. Prince Andrew was arrested in February as a suspect in a misuse‑of‑public‑office case, which he denies.
