Prince Andrew investigated for alleged inappropriate conduct at 2002 Royal Ascot

British police are probing a claim that Prince Andrew engaged in “inappropriate behaviour” with a woman during the Royal Ascot meeting in June 2002. The Thames Valley Police investigation forms part of a wider probe into the former duke’s conduct, which also examines alleged leaks of confidential information to Jeffrey Epstein during his decade as a UK trade envoy.

The police have appealed for any women who were victims of abuse by Epstein to come forward and said they are working closely with the U.S. Department of Justice. A spokesperson said, "We cannot go into detail, but we are following all reasonable lines of investigation." The inquiry follows Andrew’s February detention, the seizure of documents from his former residences, and recent releases showing the late Queen’s role in appointing him as a commercial envoy. The case adds to ongoing scrutiny of the prince’s ties to Epstein and Maxwell.
