Prince Andrew remains included in secret royal funeral plans

Despite being stripped of his princely titles and honorary military appointments by King Charles III, former Duke of York Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is reportedly still included in the United Kingdom’s confidential royal funeral contingency plans.

These highly classified administrative documents, known as “bridge plans,” are managed by the Cabinet Office and prepared years in advance. They detail security, transport, media coordination, and ceremonial arrangements for the deaths of senior royals. Examples of such protocols include Operation London Bridge and Operation Forth Bridge.

Reports indicate that Andrew remains on the confidential register because these plans are established long before changes in royal status occur. It is believed he may still receive a ceremonial funeral service, potentially at St. George’s Chapel, similar to other senior members of the royal family.
