Prince Edward Island Progressive Conservative agent charged with 42 offences
An official agent for Prince Edward Island’s governing Progressive Conservative Party has been charged with 42 offences under the provincial Election Expenses Act. The RCMP launched the investigation in August following a referral from Elections PEI.
The alleged offences involve donations made in 2025. Investigators claim certain donations violated the Act or were not reported according to legislative requirements. Specifically, party president Robert Larsen previously noted that seven donations allegedly exceeded the individual contribution limit of $3,350. Other issues included receiving funds from a Nova Scotia resident via a fundraising dinner ticket and filing contribution records one day late.
Each of the 42 offences carries a maximum penalty of a $1,000 fine. The accused is scheduled to appear in Charlottetown provincial court on October 29.
