Prince Edward says he grew weary of long‑standing gay rumors
Prince Edward, the younger brother of King Charles III, has faced persistent speculation about being gay since he left the Royal Marines to pursue a career in theatre in the late 1980s.
His former partner, actress Ruthie Henshall, explained in a recent podcast and her memoir *The Showgirl and the Prince* that Edward initially reacted with amusement, laughing and rolling his eyes at the rumours. Over time, however, he grew tired of the constant media focus on his private life. Henshall stressed that Edward never held prejudice toward homosexual people and was frustrated solely by the relentless intrusion.
