Prince Eze Madumere urges preventive healthcare at Imo State University outreach

Prince Eze Madumere, former Deputy Governor of Imo State, addressed the Faculty of Health Science Students’ Association (FOHSSA) during a free medical outreach at Imo State University in Owerri. He said good health is the foundation for education, productivity and sustainable development, and stressed the importance of preventive healthcare and early disease detection.

Madumere praised the range of services provided – BMI assessment, vital signs checks, HIV and malaria screening, eye examinations, blood‑sugar testing, medical consultations and health education – noting they benefit residents who lack easy access to quality care. He commended the students for their community service, thanked sponsor OCCEEJ Diagnostics and other partners, and urged the participants to maintain academic focus while continuing to serve the public.

The former deputy governor highlighted that collaboration between educational institutions, healthcare providers and public‑spirited individuals is essential for building a healthier Imo State.
