Prince George confirmed for Eton College starting September

Kensington Palace confirmed that Prince George, who will turn 13 in July, will begin at Eton College this September. The decision follows a family tradition: Prince William attended Eton from 1995 to 2000 and Prince Harry from 1998 to 2003. Tuition for the elite boarding school is £63,298 (about $84,900) per year.

Eton, founded in 1440, is a historic boys’ school near Windsor that has educated 20 British prime ministers and numerous public figures. The prince’s enrollment revives scrutiny of the school after former teachers Jacob Leland and Matthew Mowbray were convicted of sexual assault on pupils, and the institution has been highlighted in broader debates about elite‑school culture in Britain.

The move underscores the royal family’s approach to education and security, with dedicated accommodations for protection staff at the school’s Manor House dormitory.
