Prince George confirmed for Eton College

Kensington Palace has confirmed that Prince George, the 12‑year‑old second‑in‑line to the British throne, will begin studying at Eton College in September. The move ends weeks of speculation about the heir’s next school after his current attendance at Lambrook School. George will join an alumni list that includes his father Prince William, his uncle Prince Harry and dozens of former British prime ministers. Eton, an all‑boys boarding school in Berkshire about 5 km from the family’s Forest Lodge residence near Windsor, charges roughly £63,000 a year. The decision was described as a “natural choice” because of the school’s proximity to the royal home and its historic ties to the monarchy. George will turn 13 in July, meeting the school’s age requirement, and will follow the same educational path his father took in the mid‑1990s.
