Prince George's County Executive discusses economic development
Prince George’s County Executive Aisha Braveboy highlighted ongoing economic development and upcoming cultural events in the region. A major focus is the large-scale redevelopment of the Blue Line Corridor, which aims to transform Seat Pleasant and Capitol Heights into transit-oriented, mixed-use hubs. This initiative is supported by over $400 million in state and county investments intended to provide modern retail, infrastructure, and equity to these historically underinvested neighborhoods.
Additionally, the Afro Plus Fest is scheduled to take place at Northwest Stadium within the Blue Line Corridor. The event is positioned as a signature attraction to boost the local economy and introduce new visitors to the county. The venue offers accessibility via the I-495 access ramp and the Morgan Boulevard Metro station to accommodate attendees from the surrounding DMV region.
