Prince Harry affirms royal identity as King Charles ends Frogmore Cottage stay

Prince Harry reiterated that he will forever remain a member of the British royal family, emphasizing that his connection to the monarchy persists despite stepping back from official duties in 2020. He framed his role as a personal identity rather than a formal office, noting his continued involvement in charitable work.

At the same time, King Charles III has moved to terminate the Sussexes' tenancy of Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. The property, a former royal residence gifted to Harry and Meghan by the late Queen Elizabeth II, was renovated at a cost of about £2.4 million funded by the Sovereign Grant. Following the king’s request, the couple returned the keys and the house is now slated for possible subdivision or restoration to its pre‑renovation state. Harry and Meghan are currently based in California, and the cottage has remained closed since their last visit at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and her funeral.
