Prince Harry and Meghan's Former Frogmore Cottage Remains Vacant

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to the United States in 2020, leaving their renovated Windsor residence, Frogmore Cottage, behind. The couple spent about £2.4 million on upgrades, including new heating, flooring and interior design.

In 2023, King Charles III ordered the royals to return the keys, formally ending their link to the property. Since then the cottage has stayed empty. Media reports noted that Prince William and Catherine were considered as possible new occupants, but the five‑bedroom home was deemed too small for their family, which lives in a larger house. Other members of the royal family were also mentioned as potential tenants, yet no further renovations or new leases have materialised.

Experts suggest that adapting the cottage for another household would require additional substantial investment, which may explain why it remains unoccupied despite its historic ties and landscaped garden featuring swans.
