Prince Harry Announces Daejeon, South Korea as Host of 2029 Invictus Games

Prince Harry, founding patron of the Invictus Games Foundation, announced that Daejeon in South Korea will host the 2029 edition of the Invictus Games. The selection marks the first time the adaptive‑sport competition for wounded, injured and sick veterans will be staged in Asia.

The games are scheduled for 6‑15 October 2029 and will feature 12 sporting disciplines, about 550 athletes from 26 nations and roughly 1,100 accompanying family members and friends. The event follows the 2027 Games in Birmingham, England, and continues the movement founded in 2014 to harness sport for the benefit of service personnel.

Harry described the hosting decision as a “defining moment” and an “exciting new chapter” for the Invictus Movement, highlighting its potential to reach more veterans across the region.
