Prince Harry heads to London solo as wife and children remain in California

Prince Harry, 41, is scheduled to travel to London next week without his wife Meghan, 44, or their children Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5. The couple stepped back from senior royal duties in 2020 and have been based in California. This would be the first time in four years that the family would travel together to the United Kingdom, but this trip will see Harry alone.

Harry’s visit includes a series of engagements, notably events linked to the Invictus Games, the sports competition he founded for wounded veterans. Relations with the rest of the royal family remain strained; Harry last saw his father, King Charles III, in September 2025. He has previously expressed a desire for reconciliation, yet continues to cite security concerns that have prevented his family from joining him. In 2025, a court rejected his challenge to a Home Office ruling that denied his family the same automatic security status afforded to other royals when travelling to the UK.
