Prince Mirko of Bulgaria Engaged to Dr. Marta Embid, Wedding Set for Madrid

Prince Mirko Panagyurishte, the eldest son of Prince Kubrat and grandson of Bulgaria's last tsar Simeon II, announced his engagement to fellow physician Dr. Marta Embid. The couple met while completing their medical training at Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid and have been together since 2023. Mirko, a specialist in general and gastrointestinal surgery, works at several Madrid hospitals, while Embid is an anesthesiologist and intensivist. The engagement was reported by the Spanish magazine HOLA! and has been covered in Bulgarian, Macedonian, French and other European outlets. The wedding is planned for the summer of next year in Madrid, the city where both were born, studied and began their relationship. Prince Kubrat, Mirko's father, is a well‑known surgeon in Spain and has been cited as Mirko's professional role model.
