Prince William and Princess Kate visit Leeds to support MND awareness
Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, visited Headingley Rugby Stadium in Leeds to support the Leeds Rhinos Foundation. The visit focused on the foundation’s efforts to use sport to improve community health, education, inclusion, and well-being.
The royals met with Leeds Rhinos CEO Jamie Jones Buchanan to discuss the ongoing impact of professional rugby player Rob Burrow, who passed away in 2024 after a five-year battle with motor neurone disease (MND). The visit also included a reunion with former player and coach Kevin Sinfield, who is participating in an ultramarathon series to raise funds and awareness for the disease.
Observers have noted the Princess of Wales’s increasing role within the Royal Family, highlighting her ability to connect with the public through social awareness and a composed presence during official engagements.
