Prince William expands Earthshot Prize reach via streaming amid royal family tensions
Prince William is expanding the global reach of his environmental initiative, the Prince of Wales’ Earthshot Prize. The upcoming awards ceremony, scheduled for November 17 in Mumbai, India, will be broadcast worldwide via Amazon Prime Video. The streaming event will be available in over 240 countries and more than 40 languages, marking a significant media milestone for the Prince of Wales.
The Mumbai event is expected to host approximately 5,000 guests and features a high-profile lineup, including actors Rami Malek, Alia Bhatt, and Sonam Kapoor, as well as singer Shreya Ghoshal. This move toward global streaming follows a similar media strategy utilized by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle through their partnership with Netflix.
Separately, tensions remain high regarding a potential reconciliation between Prince William and Prince Harry. While Harry has expressed a desire to reconnect with his family following his return to London, reports suggest that any meeting at Buckingham Palace would require Harry to sign a strict confidentiality agreement. Prince William has reportedly expressed hesitation due to a lack of trust following Harry’s previous public disclosures in memoirs and documentaries.
