NewPrinces reports revenue growth driven by acquisitions
NewPrinces has reported significant revenue growth for the first half of the year, driven largely by recent acquisitions such as the Italian baby food business Plasmon and Princes France. Consolidated revenues exceeded 3 billion euros, a substantial increase from 1.3 billion euros in the same period the previous year.
While the group recorded a net loss of 5.8 million euros for the first half, the second quarter showed a marked recovery. The company reported a positive operating profit (Ebit) of 19.1 million euros in the second quarter, reversing a loss from the first quarter. This turnaround is attributed to improved margins and a reduction in the cost of key raw materials, including oil, durum wheat, and milk, which helped offset inflationary pressures on energy and freight.
In the UK market, the London-listed food group saw revenues grow by 7% to approximately £999.4 million. Pre-tax profits increased by 62% to £39.2 million. Interim boss Giuseppe Mastrolia noted that the company is well-positioned for the remainder of 2026, targeting further cost efficiencies and leveraging disciplined commercial management to protect profitability.
