Princess Aiko and Princess Kako wear coordinated kimonos at garden party
Princess Aiko and Princess Kako drew public attention for wearing coordinated furisode kimonos during the autumn garden party held at Akasaka Palace on October 29. While some observers questioned the similarity of their attire in relation to traditional etiquette, Imperial Household Agency officials noted that coordination is customary as long as the outfits do not overlap with Empress Masako's attire.
Fashion experts noted that while the colors were similar, the two princesses maintained distinct styles through their accessories. Princess Aiko featured floral patterns on her handbag and sandals, while Princess Kako opted for a more understated look with solid gold accessories and simpler patterns.
