Princess Aiko makes first visit to Aomori Prefecture

Princess Aiko conducted her first visit to Aomori Prefecture on October 12 and 13 to observe events during the National Sports Festival.

During her stay, she attended a soft baseball match in Misawa City, where she expressed interest in the technical differences between soft and hard baseball, noting, “The sound of the ball is different.” Her interest in baseball stems from her childhood. She also visited Hachinohe City to view the National Treasure “Gassho Dogu,” a Jomon-period clay figurine.

On the second day of her visit, she traveled to Mutsu City to watch fencing competitions and engaged with local elementary school students during their learning presentations.
