Princess Aiko visits Shiga Prefecture and Lake Biwa Museum

Princess Aiko conducted her first visit to Shiga Prefecture, touring the Lake Biwa Museum where she observed the Biwako oonamazu, a large catfish often referred to as the ‘master of Lake Biwa’. During the museum tour, she engaged with curators, asking questions regarding the depth at which the fish live and the differences in their colors and patterns.

Following the museum visit, the Princess traveled to the Fukushia welfare facility in Maibara City. After observing students participating in rehabilitation activities, she participated in a session of Boccia, a sport designed for individuals with disabilities. She demonstrated skill during the activity, successfully hitting the target ball twice. The visit concluded with a friendly interaction between the Princess and the facility's users.
