Princess Alexandra of Hannover announces engagement to Ben-Sylvester Strautmann

Princess Alexandra of Hannover, the youngest daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco and Ernst August of Hannover, has announced her engagement to Ben-Sylvester Strautmann.

The 27-year-old princess shared the news on Instagram via a series of photos titled ‘The Marriage Plot’, which included images of the couple and her engagement ring. The ring features a prominent yellow diamond set on a platinum band with side brilliant-cut diamonds. Experts suggest the rare gemstone could be valued in the six-figure range.

Alexandra and Strautmann have been in a relationship for nearly ten years, having first made their relationship public at the Rose Ball in Monaco in 2018. Strautmann, a German entrepreneur and former basketball player who studied at King’s College London, is the son of successful bankers from Lower Saxony.

The announcement has drawn congratulations from various members of European high society and royalty. While the engagement is official, a wedding date has not yet been announced.
