Princess Amalia to Open FEI World Riding Championships in Aachen
The opening ceremony of the FEI World Riding Championships will take place on 11 August 2026 in Aachen, Germany. Princess Catharina‑Amalia of the Netherlands will give the official start signal, while Zara Tindall, niece of King Charles III of the United Kingdom, will have a prominent role. Infanta Elena of Spain will attend as a special guest on the tribune.
The program features a parade of nations, live music, an elaborate audiovisual production and a display of more than 250 horses. Historic carriages from the royal houses of the Netherlands, Denmark and the United Kingdom will be presented, highlighting the ceremony’s blend of sport, tradition and culture.
