Princess Amalia promoted to sergeant in Royal Netherlands Navy

Princess Amalia of the Netherlands has been promoted to the rank of sergeant. The ceremony took place on Saturday, October 17, aboard the Statsraad Lehmkuhl in the port of Den Helder.

The promotion follows her participation in a week-long voyage alongside first-year midshipmen, the future officers of the navy. This milestone is part of her ongoing military training through the Defensity College program, which she began in 2025.

This marks her second promotion this year. In January, she completed her General Military Training and was promoted to corporal. Her military experience has included roles within the Defense Staff and the Royal Netherlands Air Force before her current work with the navy.
