Princess Ariane of the Netherlands, the 19-year-old youngest daughter of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, has officially begun her studies at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). She is enrolled in the highly selective Aerospace Engineering program.

Admission to the program involved a rigorous selection process. Out of approximately 4,300 applicants, only about 11 percent—roughly 440 students—were accepted. Faculty officials noted that the Princess underwent the same demanding requirements as all other candidates, with no preferential treatment regarding mathematics or physics assessments.

By choosing this field, Ariane follows in the footsteps of her late uncle, Prince Friso, who also studied aerospace engineering at TU Delft. The choice also mirrors the interests of her father, the King, who is a trained pilot. The Dutch Royal House has stated that her academic life will be treated as a private matter.
