Princess Catherine visits former school to open hockey pitch
Catherine, Princess of Wales, visited her former school, St Andrew's in Pangbourne, Berkshire, to officially open a new hockey pitch. During the visit, she participated in activities with students.
Reflecting on her nine years at the school, the Princess described it as one of the happiest periods of her life. She revealed that upon leaving the institution, she had told her mother she intended to return to work as a teacher, though she noted, “That did not happen.”
The Princess also highlighted the importance of sports in her life, noting how the school's outdoor spaces fostered her interest in physical activity. Richard Hudson, the school's deputy headmaster, recalled her as a hardworking and polite student who held the school's high jump record for approximately 20 years.
