Princess Diana death: enduring conspiracy theories

Nearly three decades after the 1997 car accident in Paris that killed Princess Diana, Dodi al-Fayed, and driver Henri Paul, various conspiracy theories regarding the event continue to circulate.

While official French and British investigations concluded the crash was a tragic accident caused by excessive speed and the driver's intoxication, prominent figures like billionaire Mohamed al-Fayed have challenged these findings. Al-Fayed alleged that the British secret service, MI6, orchestrated the incident on behalf of the Royal Family to prevent a potential marriage and pregnancy involving an Egyptian Muslim.

However, the 2004 British investigation known as Operation Paget addressed these claims, noting that forensic analysis showed no evidence of pregnancy hormones in Diana's blood and that her close associates testified the relationship with Dodi al-Fayed was in its early stages.
