Princess Diana's 30th anniversary plans spark royal tensions

Preparations for the 30th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death in 2027 are causing tension within the British Royal Family. Prince Harry is reportedly developing a documentary about his mother’s life and humanitarian legacy, and has secured an informal agreement for his uncle, Earl Spencer, to participate.

However, concerns have emerged regarding potential competition between the brothers, Prince Harry and Prince William. There are reports that Harry fears being overshadowed by William, who, as heir, could potentially lead efforts to posthumously restore Diana’s ‘Her Royal Highness’ title—a gesture Harry cannot initiate himself.

Simultaneously, Earl Spencer is facing scrutiny over his new memoir, ‘Swan Song’. Royal experts and Buckingham Palace have challenged certain claims in the book, specifically a description of King Charles III’s reaction to Diana’s death in 1997.

A royal source indicated that the Palace’s recent statements regarding Harry and Spencer were intended to ‘protect the peace’ of King Charles III, who is currently undergoing cancer treatments and wishes to avoid prolonged public controversies.
