Princess Diana's personal relationships detailed by royal biographer

Royal biographer Ingrid Seward has shared new insights regarding Princess Diana’s relationship with her family and her children. According to Seward, Diana was adamant that Princes William and Harry understood that King Charles III loved her, despite the difficulties in their marriage. Seward noted that the then-Prince Charles felt guilt regarding the failure of the relationship, though the couple were fundamentally mismatched.

Seward also detailed the emotional fallout from Diana’s 1995 Panorama interview. At the time, a 13-year-old Prince William, then a student at Eton College, was reportedly blindsided and humiliated by the broadcast. This led to a significant confrontation between mother and son at Kensington Palace, described by Seward as their worst argument, though they eventually reconciled.

These claims coincide with the publication of a new memoir by Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer, titled ‘Swan Song: Diana my Sister’, which provides his personal account of her life and marriage.
