Crown Princess Elisabeth of Belgium celebrates 25th birthday

Crown Princess Elisabeth of Belgium celebrated her 25th birthday on October 25, 2026. To mark the milestone, the Belgian Royal Palace released a new black-and-white portrait of the future monarch, photographed by Bas Bogaerts.

In addition to the portrait, several commemorative items were released. The Royal Belgian Mint issued a limited-edition gold coin featuring the Princess on one side and King Philippe on the other. The coin is made of 99.9% pure gold and is part of a special ‘Belle Epreuve’ quality series with only 2,500 units produced. Simultaneously, Bpost released a special postage stamp series featuring a black-and-white portrait of the Princess, marking the first time a self-adhesive stamp has been dedicated to a member of the Belgian royal family.

The Princess, who recently completed a Master’s degree in Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School, has maintained a relatively low public profile during her studies. While she is currently taking time for personal development and travel, public sentiment remains high, with recent polls indicating significant popularity among the Belgian population.
