Princess Iman of Jordan welcomes twin daughters

Princess Iman bint Abdullah II and her husband, Jameel Alexander Thermiotis, have welcomed twin daughters, according to an announcement from the Hashemite Royal Court on Friday, August 14, 2026. The birth of the twins was a surprise to many, as the pregnancy was initially announced by Queen Rania in July without specifying that the Princess was expecting two children.

Queen Rania later revealed the names of the newborns via Instagram, identifying them as Talia and Rania. The latter name serves as a tribute to the Queen herself. This arrival expands the younger generation of the Jordanian royal family; Princess Iman is now a mother of three, joining her eldest daughter, Amina, born in February 2025.

While the birth is a significant family milestone for King Abdullah II and Queen Rania, it does not alter the national line of succession, which remains governed by male primogeniture. Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II shared his congratulations on social media, celebrating the new additions to the Hashemite dynasty.
