Princess Ingrid Alexandra becomes Norway's Crown Princess
Following the death of King Harald V on August 28, 2026, Princess Ingrid Alexandra has become the Crown Princess of Norway and the nation's first heir apparent to become a female monarch. Currently 22 years old, she is preparing for her future role while continuing her university studies at the University of Oslo and the University of Sydney.
Princess Ingrid Alexandra maintains a close personal connection with other future European monarchs, including Princess Catharina-Amalia of the Netherlands and Princess Elisabeth of Belgium. The three maintain a private group chat to discuss the unique challenges of their lives, such as managing social media and private lives. The bond between the Norwegian and Dutch princesses dates back to 2010, when they served as bridesmaids together at the wedding of Princess Victoria of Sweden.
