Princess Ingrid Alexandra begins studies at University of Oslo

Princess Ingrid Alexandra, 22, has begun her semester as an exchange student at the University of Oslo. While she is officially enrolled in a social sciences bachelor's program at the University of Sydney, she is spending the upcoming semester at the Blindern campus to complete relevant courses.

This academic move follows a period of significant family challenges, including Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s recent lung transplant due to pulmonary fibrosis and the legal proceedings involving her son, Marius Borg Høiby.

The Princess has participated in standard student orientation activities, including “fadderuke” (freshman week) events such as speed-friending and bingo. Experts suggest the move reflects a desire for normalcy amidst recent family circumstances, though the presence of security personnel remains a logistical consideration for the university and police.
