Princess Isabella of Denmark visits family during military service
Princess Isabella of Denmark, 19, is currently undergoing an 11-month period of military service with the Guard Hussar Regiment at Antvorskov Barracks in Slagelse. The Danish Royal Family recently visited the barracks during an open house event to support her.
King Frederik, Queen Mary, Crown Prince Christian, Prince Vincent, and Princess Josephine attended the event. Photos released by the Royal House show the family interacting with the Princess in her uniform, including moments where the King inspected the troops and the Queen embraced her daughter.
Isabella’s service follows a recent change in Danish law that introduced a lottery-based conscription system for women in response to heightened security concerns in Europe. She is noted as the first female member of the Danish royal family to participate in such military service.
