Princess Kako attends Girls' Message 2026 to honor young women
Princess Kako attended ‘Girls’ Message 2026’ in Shibuya, Tokyo, an event organized by the Girl Scouts of Japan to honor young women who have taken initiative to solve various social issues.
During the ceremony, the Princess praised the participants for their efforts to create a better society, including gender equality. She remarked, “I believe that actions to improve something, even if they seem small one by one, will spread to various places and become a great force. I believe such actions will surely bear fruit someday.”
Award recipients included students from Nagano Prefecture who worked on disaster prevention education for foreign tourists, as well as middle and high school students from Miyazaki Prefecture who engaged in organic farming on abandoned land to facilitate donations to Rwanda. Princess Kako met with the awardees, commending their new challenges and broad perspectives.
