Princess Kate and Melinda French Gates meet to discuss early childhood development

The Princess of Wales and philanthropist Melinda French Gates held a working session in London to discuss collaborative efforts for child and youth development. The meeting, which took place at the offices of Pivotal—an organization founded by French Gates—focused on how to better support the emotional development, resilience, and sense of belonging in young people.

The discussions utilized the ‘Shaping Us’ framework, a concept developed by the Princess in collaboration with over 100 global human development experts. The goal is to promote holistic, whole-person development across all life stages.

While no formal partnership has been officially launched, Christian Guy, Executive Director of The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, indicated that the organizations will spend the coming months exploring practical ways to build on this work. The initiative aims to address the considerable challenges facing modern youth by investing in supportive relationships and opportunities for personal growth.
