Princess Kate honors cancer survivors at Manchester centre
Princess Catherine, Princess of Wales, visited the Christie Cancer Centre in Manchester to meet patients and their families. She attended the ceremony where Claire Lorente rang the centre’s therapy bell, marking the end of her breast‑cancer treatment. Kate praised Lorente’s courage, saying, “What a journey, well done, very strong,” and spent time listening to stories, encouraging staff and patients.
The visit highlighted the Princess’s ongoing advocacy for cancer research and patient support, drawing a large public response and reinforcing her personal connection to the disease after her own treatment experience.
