Princess Kate Middleton visits Manchester cancer centre

Princess of Wales Kate Middleton visited the Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester on 4 June 2026. During the visit she met 30‑year‑old Claire Lorente, who had just completed breast‑cancer treatment, and embraced Lorente and her baby.

Midnight‑long, Kate recalled her own cancer journey – a diagnosis announced in March 2024, treatment completed in September 2024 and chemotherapy concluded in January 2025 – and said, “I know how difficult it was for my children and my parents.” She emphasised the challenge families face during illness and encouraged support for patients and their loved ones.
