Princess Kate visits The Treehouse children's hospice

Princess Kate visited the construction site of The Treehouse children's hospice in Ipswich, Suffolk, to observe ongoing expansion projects. Wearing a white safety helmet and orange high-visibility vest, she toured the site with managing director Kevin Clements. The expansion includes new facilities such as a hydrotherapy pool, a dedicated area for teenagers, an additional children's room, a therapy suite, and an enlarged kitchen and activity area.

Following the site tour, the Princess of Wales spent time with children and families supported by the hospice, participating in music therapy sessions. Kate has a long-standing connection to the facility, having delivered her first royal speech there in March 2012. She also serves as the patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), the parent organization for The Treehouse. This charitable commitment follows in the footsteps of the late Princess Diana, who opened the first EACH hospice in 1989.

In a separate unannounced appearance, the Princess also visited an EACH secondhand shop in Hoveton near Norwich. During this visit, she engaged with local shoppers and discussed her affinity for browsing secondhand stores, describing the experience as a “treasure hunt.”
