Princess Lalla Asmaa visits children receiving cochlear implants in Rabat

Princess Lalla Asmaa, President of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation, visited the National Center for Rehabilitation and Neurosciences in Rabat to meet with Moroccan and Panamanian children who recently underwent cochlear implant surgeries.

The Foundation’s NASMAA program has provided free cochlear implants to more than 1,100 Moroccans. Panama has now become the 22nd country to join the international program, making it the second in Latin America to benefit from the initiative after El Salvador.

The medical procedure, which includes surgery, implant activation, and long-term speech rehabilitation, is conducted by a team of Moroccan surgeons. The Panamanian Ambassador to Morocco, Isbeth Quiel Murcia, expressed gratitude on behalf of the First Lady of Panama, Maricel Cohen de Mulino, noting that the cooperation provides these children with the opportunity for a better future through the restoration of hearing.
